Apps Alliance Welcomes TROL Act Hearing, but Urges Stronger Protections Against Patent Trolls’ Abusive Demand Letters

Washington, D.C. – The Application Developers Alliance praised the Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade for holding today’s hearing about legislation to inhibit patent trolls’ abusive demand letters, but urged the Committee to strengthen the bill.

WASHINGTON, DC – Application Developers Alliance Board Member, Todd Moore, testified before the House Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property and the Internet today. Moore called on the Committee and Congress to pass comprehensive patent reform legislation to protect American innovators and small businesses from patent trolls. Moore is the founder of mobile app publisher TMSOFT LLC, and was sued by a patent troll in 2013.

Washington, D.C. (February 27, 2013) – Today, the Application Developers Alliance thanked Representatives Peter DeFazio (D-OR) and Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) for introducing the SHIELD Act but urged Congress to do even more to protect entrepreneurs from patent trolls.
