App Economy Generates $429 Million for Colorado Economy

Washington, D.C. (October 4, 2012) - Colorado ranks as one of the nation’s app industry leaders, according to a study released today by CTIA-The Wireless Association® and the Application Developers Alliance. The research, conducted by South Mountain Economics, LLC and entitled “The Geography of the App Economy,” found that application development is responsible for more than 8,000 jobs in Colorado with an economic impact of $429 million. That makes Colorado the tenth most “app intense” state. App intensity is a measure of the number of app economy jobs in a state relative to the number of jobs overall.
